Michelin-star Under Grain is off to a flying start to the year with yet another prestigious award to add to its mantle. Under Grain took home “Malta’s Best Restaurant” at the inaugural ceremony of the World Culinary Awards, which serve to reward excellence in the global culinary industry as voted for by industry professionals and the public.
As a sister event to the long-standing, highly-regarded World Travel Awards—now in their 27th year—the World Culinary Awards were established in 2020 in response to the culinary industry’s wish for an awards programme with greater transparency. The awards body scours the globe in search of the crème de la crème of the dining world, and puts forward a shortlist of exceptional nominees with votes cast online in a range of categories. Under Grain won out against some tough local competition in its category for Best Restaurant in Malta.
“What a fabulous way to start the year! This award means all the more to us since the public also holds sway in the voting process. It’s an honour to be recognised for the hard work and quality we put into our food and service. This award is sure to motivate and inspire our team to continue reaching for perfection in all that we do. A special thank you to our diners for their support,” said Victor Borg, Executive Chef at Under Grain.
Housed within Rosselli-AX Privilege—a five-star boutique hotel in Valletta brimming with heritage and vintage flair—Under Grain has fast become one of Malta’s must-visit dining destinations since launching in 2019.
