A Battle of the Rosés for the discerning bon vivant

A Battle of the Rosés for the discerning bon vivant

Our Grain restaurants: One MICHELIN Star Under Grain, MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Grain Street and our rooftop terrace Over Grain, are proud to present The Sip & Savour Series. We’re peppering our culinary calendar with a series of exclusive gourmet events which will see our accomplished kitchen brigade collaborate with various spirits importers and connoisseurs to create unique, singular and stellar dining experiences par excellence.

No two events will be the same. During each experience, the chosen seasonal spirit, cocktail or alcoholic beverage of the evening will be paired with the MICHELIN-awarded service and cuisine finessed by Executive Chef Victor Borg for one night only.

Our first event of the series, at €50 per person, kicks off on Thursday 21st July 2022 in collaboration with the connoisseurs at Charles Grech, who will be present throughout the evening to guide guests through each pairing. The evening will be a Battle of the Rosés, featuring six wines from Italy and France paired with the professional service by the team at our MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Grain Street, promising you complementing flavours, textures and aromas. Join us for an al fresco evening under the Mediterranean stars and mingling with fellow discerning bon vivants.

The Main Attractions For the Evening

Frescobaldi Alie Rosé
A pale pink colour with peach nuances immediately expresses its intriguing personality. The sharp and unmistakable bouquet melds with the fragrances of fresh and ripe fruit. Salted notes return on the palate. Flavour and freshness are well balanced, persistence making it an elegant, fine wine.

M de Minuty Côte de Provence Rosé
Light and bright, eager and intense with orange peel and red current aromas. Smooth with a nice acidulous freshness.

Cantine Murgo Etna Rosato
This wine has a particular bond with the traditions of the Etna area where it was common practice to carry out very short macerations in order to produce fruity and easy-drinking wines, much appreciated in the area. The production techniques used enhance the aromatic characteristics of the vines used. It is a rosé wine of good colouring intensity with moderate tannins that finds perfect combinations also on fish-based dishes and fresh tomato-based dishes.

Zonin Prosecco Millesimato Rosé
Rosé 1821 has a pink colour of sure elegance. A very fine perlage enhances the brightness in the glass. It has an intense aroma that recalls in the first instance the rennet apple, followed by delicate hints of red fruits and violets. In the mouth it is soft and passes from the finest floral notes to white peach. It is consistent with the style of Prosecco signed by Zonin, which has always aimed at a distinctive, recognizable taste.

Champagne Barons de Rothschild Rosé
The Champagne Rosé is blended from the greatest Chardonnay grapes from Champagne and the very best Pinots Noirs made into red wines, after a minimum of three years cellar-ageing.

Domaines Ott Clos Mireille Rosé
The wine is a very pale pink highlighted, depending on the vintage, with golden, orange and even vermilion tints. Its bouquet reveals fresh fruit (mango, melon) punctuated with lemony notes. On the palate, its freshness develops through citrus aromas around a resolutely mineral core before ending with a subtly persistent finish.
